Don Juan DeMarco (DVD)

What it's about: A psychiatrist (Marlon Brando) must cure a young man (Johnny Depp) who says he's Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world, within 10 days.

What I thought of it: I had seen this movie in a theatre in 1995, and I really liked it. Rented it and watched it with Hubby last night. Maybe because I'm older, but I simply thought it was such a cute, touching story. I simply love Depp! He was quite believable as a Mexican lover and even back then you could spot some Captain Sparrow in him.

It is a nice story about love and the power of imagination. It does include some truly laugh out loud moments.

My favorite scene/quote:

Don Juan: "There are only four questions of value in life, Don Octavio. What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: only love."

Dr. Jack Michler: "Sadly, I must report that the last patient I ever treated, the great lover Don Juan DeMarco, suffered from a romanticism which was completely incurable, and even worse, highly contagious."

If you never saw it - rent it - you'll enjoy it!
